ENERGY CONSULTING
What is the carbon footprint?
A carbon footprint is «the total greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of an individual, organisation, event or product». Such environmental impact is measured by carrying out an inventory following recognised international standards such as ISO 14064, PAS 2050 or GHG Protocol among others. The carbon footprint is measured in mass of CO2 equivalent.
Royal Decree 163/2014, of 14 March, creates in Spain the registry of carbon footprint, compensation and carbon dioxide absorption projects. At GESE we calculate our clients’ carbon footprint, subsequently establishing policies that allow us to minimise its impact.
ONCE THE SIZE AND FOOTPRINT ARE KNOWN, IT IS POSSIBLE TO IMPLEMENT AN EMISSION REDUCTION AND/OR OFFSETTING STRATEGY, THROUGH DIFFERENT PUBLIC OR PRIVATE PROGRAMMES.

IMPLEMENTATION OF THE
ISO 50 001 STANDARD
We provide technical advice in achieving the implementation of the ISO 50001 standard, integrating the energy management system in our clients.
This standard was developed at the request of the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), which had recognised the industry’s need for an international standard as an effective response to climate change and the proliferation of national energy management standards.
The system is modelled on the ISO 9001 standard for quality management systems and the ISO 14001 standard for environmental management systems.
